1 package Udi’s Gluten Free Pizza Crust or a homemade GF pizza crust (2 individual pizzas)
Pizza sauce and or pesto
Grated Italian cheese blend, Brie cheese slices, fresh mozzarella, sheep or goat feta
Chili pepper flakes
Applegate Farms Pepperoni: Pork or Turkey
Fresh seasonal vegetables sliced, slivered or chopped: zucchini, eggplant, broccoli, slivered basil leaves, sliced tomatoes, olives, red onion, sliced and sauteed shiitake mushrooms (or other mushrooms), spinach, arugula, radicchio, any leafy greens. Add fresh herbs, caramelized onions, garlic and mushrooms. Chopped chicken mixed with BBQ sauce! So many ideas.
Be creative, add what you love. There’s no limit to what you can add to top your pizza!
PS~ This pizza is yummy the next day cold!
Zucchini flowers and Pizza? YES!
Meg’s was talking to Amado, one of our beloved farmers from JR. Organics, about making summer pizzas. He encouraged her to try adding zucchini flowers to some of our favorite dishes. Amado suggested to stuff them or just use zucchini flowers as a pizza topping. We were a bit skeptical at first. However when we saw how pretty the flowers made our pizza ~ an edible work of art, AND how wonderful they tasted. We became hooked during summer when you can find the flowers most available.
The flowers melt into the pizzas beautifully, as you can see below. We can’t wait to try other recipes using the flowers, just make sure you take out the stem inside the flowers first!
